Wiesmann MF5 Roadster

Wiesmann is a hand built bespoke sportscar from Germany, which has enjoyed enormous success during its not so long time as a car company. It has now become more of a luxury thing, thanks to its unique retro-classic design, but as far as performance matters it can still cut it.

at 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the company has announced the new version of their Roadster model. It’s called the MF5 and is powered by a BMW engine, as usual. But unlike the early models which had the straight six from the M3, this car comes with the full fat V10 out of the M5! That means 507 hp and 520 Nm of torque, delivered to the wheels via BMW’s 7-speed SMG gearbox.

The Wiesmann is a whole lot lighter than the M5, so 507hp, which make the M5 dance, would play havoc with it! and it does! 0 to 100 km/h is done within 3.9 seconds and the top speed is over 310 km/h. That’s why this car is loaded with electronic systems to keep it in check. ABS, DSC, ESP, TC… you name it! It also has a bunch of safety features like side impact protection, safety steering column, 3-point seat belts, Hydraulic Power Steering and driver and front passenger airbags.

Wiesmann MF5 is produced in a high-tech factory using advanced methods and materials. Its body is made of fiberglass-composite and retractable soft-top and a laminated glass windshield. Only 55 units of this exclusive roadster will be made all of which are bespoke to their customers, and each goes for a cool 189,500 Euros!
