Team Aon has prepared a Ford Focus ST for the new season of British Touring Car Championship, which unlike other contenders doesn’t run on petrol.

This car is powered by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and makes the Aon team the first ever to use this fuel in BTCC.

Apart from technicalities, they hope that switching to LPG brings more media attention to them mainly because the liquefied gas is known as a green fuel. The team’s decision to switch to LPG follows an extensive evaluation programme with the team’s engine development partner Mountune Racing and leading UK supplier Calor.

Another advantage of LPG for the team is gaining the new sponsor Calor Gas.
