Abarth Punto Evo With esseesse Kit

Great news for those who appreciate Abarth cars, but hate the cheesy fiat 500! You can now have the Punto Evo Abarth with the esseesse kit. That means an 180bhp hot hatch with visual appeal and great features.

The engine’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is upgraded so that, along with its Garrett GT1446 fixed-geometry turbo, the 1.4-litre turbo unit produces 180bhp at 5750rpm. These modifications give the Abarth Punto Evo esseesse a 0-62mph acceleration time of 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 134 mph. Stopping power is supplied by disc brakes all round (fully floating self-ventilated at the front, cross drilled at the rear), complete with Brembo M4x40 front callipers.

Uprated Abarth springs and Koni FSD dampers are fitted front and rear, which results in a lower ride height.  A six-speed manual gearbox provides the transmission, and the car features Abarth’s switch to transfer from ‘Normal’ driving mode to ‘Sport’.

The esseesse kit adds around £3000 to the cost of a standard Abarth Punto Evo (£16,852 OTR). And that makes it a rather expensive. But as far as hot hatches go, this is one of the good ones. It’s discrete yet fast and entertaining.
