BMW finally decided to release an M-powered version of their smallest model yet, the 1-Series. They won’t call it the M1 of course, 1-series M coupe seems more likely.

It’s based on the 1-Series Coupe which gets an M-body kit, big wheels, four exhausts, and.. the whole nine yards! And as for the engine although it’s not fully confirmed, it’ll get a twin-charged six-cylinder with more than 300 hp, and probably a manual gearbox as standard.

This car reminds us of the original M3. It has the same compactness, lightness and naughtiness! OK, it might not look all that brilliant, but as far as driving matters, it’ll be an astonishing car.

The 1er M Coupe will be launched in summer as a 2011 model.
