At 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota will be unveiling a new sports coupe called the FT-86. Unlike other products by the Japanese manufacturer, this car features an exciting look!

FT-86 has been developed in collaboration with Subaru. In fact the engine and power train comes from this company. So maybe it’s more fair to call it a ToyoBaru!

The Hachi Roku (86 in Japanese!) is equipped with Subaru’s 2.0 liter boxer engine which has been re-tuned for this car to give around 200hp. It is also fairly compact at 4,160mm long, 1,760mm wide, and 1,260mm high with a wheelbase of 2,570mm.

Toyota uses word like “functional utility” or “joy of driving” to describe the FT-86, but to be honest it needs more power to meet the basic requirements of any kind of sporty drive!
