Yep, that’s right. The Kia Optima family saloon is now having a racing career as Kia and Kinetic Motorsport prepare two cars for the Pirelli World Challenge Championships. Sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, World Challenge features world-class drivers and race-prepped versions of production vehicles from many of the world’s most popular manufacturers. The Kia Optimas will be the first Korean vehicles to compete in the series — which includes a suspenseful standing start rather than the more common rolling start — and is known for exciting door-to-door action throughout the 50-minute sprint races. Cadillac CTS-V SCCA Racer

This is how the new race car by Cadillac, which is currently in the works, will look like. This race-spec Cadillac CTS-V is being prepared for the brand’s return to the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) World Challenge series next year after four years. They’ve signed with Andy Pilgrim and  Johnny O’Connell as drivers since they will enter the competition with two teams. The CTS-V race car returns Cadillac to a series where it competed from 2004 to 2007. Competing in the GT Class with the CTS-V Sport Sedan, Cadillac captured the Manufacturer’s Championship in 2005 and 2007 and the Driver’s Championship in 2005.
