Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype

The mighty Corvette gets a new body for its latest assignment, which is to compete in GRAND-AM Road Racing Series. The car made its debut yesterday during the GRAND-AM test at Daytona International Speedway. Chevrolet has not released any technical details, but they’ve revealed the four teams that will be using this car net season, including No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Racing; No. 10 SunTrust Racing; No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing, and the Nos. 5 and 9 Action Express Racing teams. The latest special edition Chevrolet Corvette is a very special one. It is in fact the Centennial Edition that celebrates the brand’s 100th anniversary all of which involved with motorpsort. So it’s kind of an homage to Chevy’s racing heritage. 2010 Chevrolet Corvette C6R

GM released details of the new racing Corvette C6R GT2 which will take part in different LeMans, endurance and GT series aroud the world in 2010. The new model is based on the mighty Corvette ZR1 which means it gets the same supercharged LS9 V8 instead os last year’s Z06 7.0L small-block engine. The car also gets ZR1 body design, aerodynamic package, aluminum frame and chassis structure, steering system, windshield, and other components. 2010 Corvette C6R GT2 gets new V8 engine

Doug Fehan, Corvette Racing program manager has revealed that the new Chevy Corvette C6R, which will compete in GT2 class in Le Mans and GT series, will get an all-new production-based 5.5 liter V8 engine. This new powerplant replace the 7.0 liter and also the downsized 6.0 liter V8s in the range, and according to Mr.Fehan, its performance is quite satisfying.
