BMW 1M Coupe Safety Car For MotoGP

Even before it officially reaches the market, the new BMW 1 Series M Coupe has been given an important job. It will take over from BMW X6M as the pace car for 2011 MotoGP season. Being a safety car might not sound like much but it is actually a prestigious title for every performance car. The specially prepared 1M for the job gets upgraded braking and suspension, as well as a semi stripped-out interior that’s been fitted with mandatory safety features like roll cage. BMW finally took the wraps off the their hottest small car yet, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe. the compact sportscar is powered by an in-line six-cylinder turbo engine developing 335 hp and 450 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, which results in a 0 to 60 mph time of  just 4.7 seconds (0-100 kmh in 4.9 seconds) and a limited top speed of 255 km/h. It also has fuel consumption of under 10 liter per 100 km.
