Wave goodbye to the DBRS9 and say hello to Aston’s brand-new GT racer the Vantage GT3! Actually, not that fast. This car is still under development and will replace the the DBRS9 from the beginning of 2012 GT3 season joining Aston Martin’s racing cars lineup with the Vantage GT2, GT4, DBR9 GT1 and the AMR-One LMP1 to create the largest and most comprehensive range of Aston Martin race cars to date. It is based on the V12Vanatage road car and if anything it looks even better than that with all the added racing bits. Aston Martin V8 Vantage S has the same philosophy as the Porsche 911 Black we’ve just been looking at. It’s for those who are bored with the regular version of Vantage and want something tougher, more exciting. This car is inspired by the Vantage GT4 race car and inherits some of its styling cues. But in terms of the powertrain, it only has 10 more horsepower than the current Vantage. But it gets an all-new seven-speed Sportshift II transmission specifically designed for the Vantage S. Despite the current circumstances in which everybody is thinking of cutting costs and going green, Aston Martin, mercifully, sticks to good things and announced they’re bringing back the great V8 Vantage GT4 series in 2011. What’s more they confirmed new teams and new races for the new season! For 2011, Aston Martin Racing has increased the number of races to nine, including two rounds in mainland Europe at Spa Francorchamps and Dijon, as well as introducing two longer, three hour races. The grid size, which includes Aston Martin Vantage N24 and GT4 cars, is expected to grow to 20 cars, as more teams join the series in its second season.
