Porsche has just announced sales of the ultra-futuristic 918 Spyder which costs nearly 850,000 USD and will take up to November 2013 to reach its customers.

But those who buy one will be given the chance to also purchase the Porsche 911 Turbo S Edition 918 Spyder, a special edition of the 911 Turbo S inspired by the 918 cues inside and out. That is apparently to make customers busy until 2013 when they finally get their hybrid super sport car. Now because the 918 is so expensive one might think it would be very generous of Porsche to give or at least borrow the 911 to the customers, but no they are asking 175 grand for the coupe and 180 grand for the cabrio version!

While this special model is powered by the same 530 hp flat-six engine as in the normal Turbo S, it gets a few distinctive918-inspired touches that set it apart from the pack. They include distinctive acid green features such as the specific and part-embroidered model logos and seams, the instrument cluster needles, the specific PCM screen and illuminated door entry guards, plus some badges and lettering to let people know this is one special 911. The limited edition badge on the glove compartment lid bears the same number as the 918 Spyder the customer has ordered.

Deliveries of this model starts form July 2011.
