Bentley Continental GT V8

December 21, 2011 at 11:53 am

It’s not like those who buy the Bentley Continental GT care about economy and want something more efficient, but Bentley has to make more efficient engines to bring their CO2 level down. That’s why they launched the Continental GT V8. This remarkable, new Bentley V8 engine delivers maximum power of 500 bhp (507 PS/373 kW) at 6000 rpm and an extraordinary peak torque of 660 Nm (487 lb ft) which is available across virtually the entire rev range from 1700 to 5000 rpm. Combined with a new close-ratio 8-speed automatic transmission, this translates into a sub-5 second acceleration time for the 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint and a top speed of over 180 mph (290 km/h). So the performance is [...]

The car also gets a modified front splitter and a new rear diffuser featuring a larger surface area and redesigned fences and foot-plates. The adoption of side exhausts allowed the engineers to increase engine power by 20 CV to 750 CV (again at 9000 rpm), [...]

Subaru BRZ Production Version

November 29, 2011 at 10:07 am

The produciton version of the Subaru BRZ sports coupe has been unveiled for Tokyo Motor Show, showing a remarkably different car than the amazing STI concept. Apart from the looks though, the BRZ should be a very good sports car. The Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine has inherent qualities of low center of gravity, lightweight, and compactness. These attributes are maximized by placing this engine even lower and closer to the center of the chassis. These factors contributed to BRZ’s low center of gravity -one of the lowest possible. The Subaru BRZ is a fun sports car that any driver can enjoy driving with peace of mind. Making full use of the design concept of the new-generation Boxer engine, the newly developed [...]
