Since as the Lotus F1 team didn’t really live up to the expectations this season in Formula 1, the British company, loaded with Malaysian money of Proton, is buying in the Renault F1 team and creates the Lotus Renault GP. So next year they’ll come with two teams.

Lotus bought the a major equity stake in the Renault Formula 1 team from Genii Capital. This partnership is not limited to Formula 1, as they hope to use F1-derived technologies such as KERS or lightweight materials for their upcoming range of supercars.
