The system includes a 4.o liter horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine with 480 hp plus two 60 Kw electric motors at front. It also has a new electric flywheel generator instead of conventional Li-Io batteries which recovers the wasted heat energy of braking and use it to charge the electric motors.

This flywheel system is actually so big they had to install it inside the car in place of the passenger seat! But eliminates the need for heavy batteries and keeps the overall weight of the car low.

Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid will premier at 2010 Geneva Motor show and then attends its first race at the 24 hours of Nurburgring in May.
