Honda Civic Type R Diesel

It looks like the Honda Civic Type R is going to get a brand new engine, and it’s a Diesel of all things.

It’s probably going to be a 180HP 2.2L CTDi engine, taken from a Honda Accord, with a torque of about 430Nm.

God i hope not… Type R should be 200bhp+, and petrol driven, not clunky with less power. Surely the rev range/red line is part of the charm of a Type R, having that red line at 6k (with most of the power delivered at 3k) what kind of sports car would that make?!

Please, Honda, keep it petrol I-VTEC…. how it should me!
