First Incentives For The Fortwo In U.S.

June 16, 2009 at 10:51 am

The Smart Fortwo is distributed in the United States by Penske Automotive Group and in 2008 they managed to sell in 2008 no less than 24,622 units. For this year, the company established a new and very optimistic target for 25,000 units.

It’s June and until now Smart USA only managed to sell 7,541 Fortwos and that’s 16% less than the 2008 sales for the same months. For example, in May they sold 1,169 units.

In order to make things better, Penske decided to offer the very first incentives on the Fortwo.

But that’s not all. Penske is also thinking about allowing dealerships to order new units without the $99 reservation per customer required today.

Let’s wish them all the best because Fortwo is a very cute car and it deserves our best wishes.
