And we are glad to report it’s not a disappointing car. Sure, that 2.0 liter boxer engine should have more than 197 bhp, but the simplicity of the car is just so charming. Toyota Back In Le Mans From 2012

After more than a decade of absence, Toyota will be back to race at Le Mans 24 hours and the endurance series in 2012 with a hybrid race car. The new team will be based at Toyota Motorsport’s Cologne headquarters and it is expected that the new car will be rolled out early in 2012 for an extensive pre-season testing programme. Toyota MR2 Britcar Racer

These days there are rumor flying around that Toyota is working on a new generation MR2 sportscar. Meanwhile, a Britsh team decided to bring back the old one to the news by using a supercharged Toyota MR2 Roadster. Not only are they hoping for top honours in their class, but also have their sights set on a top-20 overall finish in the 1/2 October Silverstone enduro. In Class 3 of the race, the Toyota is up against some race-proven performance models, including GT4 cars from Aston Martin, Ginetta and Lotus, as well as several BMW M3s and a GT3 Porsche. Not five minutes after unveiling the car, Toyota announced the new 2012 Camry has been selected to pace the famous Daytona 500 race next year. The 2012 Camry debuts a bold, sophisticated new design with a more spacious interior, improved driving dynamics and an even quieter ride than before. Toyota To Set Electric Nurburgring Lap Record

Toyota announced details of their plans to set a new lap records around the Nurburgring, with an electric sportscar. TMG’s high-performance electric powertrain will power the car as it aims to significantly improve on the current lap EV record of 9min 1.338secs. Based on unofficial testing and depending on weather conditions, TMG expects to hit lap-record pace immediately, with additional days scheduled as back-up. The car in question has two electric motors to deliver peak power of 280kW and a top speed of 260km/h with zero emissions.
