The produciton version of the Subaru BRZ sports coupe has been unveiled for Tokyo Motor Show, showing a remarkably different car than the amazing STI concept. Apart from the looks though, the BRZ should be a very good sports car. The Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine has inherent qualities of low center of gravity, lightweight, and compactness. These attributes are maximized by placing this engine even lower and closer to the center of the chassis. These factors contributed to BRZ’s low center of gravity -one of the lowest possible. The wraps finally come off the Subaru BRZ as the car makes it debut at the Los Angeles Autoshow. And we have the first details of the car here. Based on an all-new rear-wheel drive (RWD) compact sports car developed from an ongoing joint-project between Subaru and Toyota Motor Corporation, the car utilizes a new boxer 2.0 liter engine that helps it achieve the lowest center of gravity. Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 – The Supercar Slayer

AS promised, The all-Wheel Drive 400PS Subaru Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 did great at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, beating many giant supercars, only beaten only by the £186,000 Lamborghini LP570-4 Performante on the 1.2-mile sprint circuit. The car really came into life at the final day when the circuit was consistently soaked with rain, the Subaru comfortably outpaced every other participating vehicle. With a quickest time of 68.18 seconds, it was over four seconds quicker than the second placed Lancia Delta Intergrale WRC and six seconds quicker than the second placed car in the Supercar category. Subaru Impreza STI CS400 Takes On World’s Supercars

Sure the Impreza is good, and the 400  PS Cosworth-tuned STI CS400 is very good. But is it that good to bet cars like Ariel Atom V8, Lamborghini LP570-4 Performante, McLaren MP4-12C and a Noble M600? Well, that’s what Subaru is confident of accomplishing at this year’s Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, the UK’s biggest celebration of power and speed. Subaru Class Win At Nuburgring 24 Hours

Subaru has been quiet about their participation in the 2011 Nurburgring 24 hours, but they did great in the race. Subaru STI managed to win its class at the world’s toughest moor race. The All-Wheel-Drive WRX STI tS, prepared by Subaru Tecnica International (STI), the firm’s in-house motorsport division, completed 142 laps (approx 3,603km) in 24 hours – 76km further than the car covered in the keenly-fought 2010 race.  The WRX STI tS finished first in the SP3T class for sub-2.0-litre turbocharged vehicles, ahead of some notable race-proven machinery, including Team Raeder Mortorsport’s Audi TT S, Kissling Motorsport’s Opel Astra GTC and Michael Kraus’ Mitsubishi Lancer CTO.
