Skoda Octavia Landspeed Record

Skoda UK recently been to Bonneville Salt Flats to try and pass 200 mph mark. They nail it, but apparently it wasn’t satisfying enough. So they set themselves a higher goal, to beat the 216 mph record for production cars. And… they nailed that one too! The modified production Octavia vRS hatch, prepared by ŠKODA UK, smashed the previous record for a 2.0-litre forced induction production car at this year’s Bonneville Speed Week (13-19 August), registering an impressive official record speed of 227.080 mph. Skoda Octavia Accomplishes Bonneville Mission

As you may know, Skoda set themselves a goal to brake the 200mph barrier at the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats in Nevada. They did it, and then some! The 500 bhp ‘salt spec’ challenger – built to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iconic vRS performance flagship badge – pushed its way through the 200 mph barrier, four days ahead of schedule.  In doing so the car, dubbed the ‘vRS Bonneville Special’, has become the fastest ŠKODA ever. Skoda Octavia vRS Bonneville Special

vRS to Skoda is like AMG to Mercedes, a sort of in-house performance arm. They’ve just turned ten, and in order to mark the event, the Czech company has come up with this, a specially-prepared Octavia vRS that is ought to set a 200 mp speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in America later this year. The car is a factory-fresh production Octavia vRS, but some changes have been made to improve aerodynamics and performance. That includes lowering it to run almost 80mm closer to the ground and a new sub-frame which houses a race prepared intercooler. Skoda Fabia vRS S2000

To celebrate the Fabia S2000′s success at International Rally Championship (IRC), Skoda released a special editoin of the vRS hot hatch inspired by the rally car. That inspiration however is jut about the looks, as they painted the car in the same livery as the rally car with green, a white roof, white alloy wheels and stickers in S2000 colours. The technical specs are not different than the regular. This model is limited to 200 units, and features the same 132 kW turbo engine as the normal Fabia vRS. Skoda Fabia vRS Hothatch with 180 hp

Skoda Fabia has been involved in the game of hot hatchbacks for a while now, but they’ve just came up with their most powerful creation ever. It comes with a 1.4 liter TSI engine developing 180 hp mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox. It does zero to 60mph in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 139mph. It also comes standard with ESP, HHC (Hill Hold Control) and XDS (Electronic Differential System).
