2010 Corvette C6R GT2 gets new V8 engine

Doug Fehan, Corvette Racing program manager has revealed that the new Chevy Corvette C6R, which will compete in GT2 class in Le Mans and GT series, will get an all-new production-based 5.5 liter V8 engine. This new powerplant replace the 7.0 liter and also the downsized 6.0 liter V8s in the range, and according to Mr.Fehan, its performance is quite satisfying. A more efficient engine will help with fuel economy and in an endurance race, that means less pit stops and more laps! 2010 Corvette C6R is fully prepared to continue the success of previous models in ALMS and Le Mans. Special Camaro Pace Car for 2010 Indianapolis 500

Chevrolet revealed a unique edition of its Camaro SS model specially prepared to the pace car for next year’s Indianapolis 500 Grand Prix. The Camaro actually has a great history with Indianapolis race, as it was the pace car in 1967, 1969, 1982, 1993 and 2009. The 2010 model features an Inferno Orange Metallic paint scheme with White Diamond rally stripes and has 2010 Indianapolis 500 event logo painted on doors and embroidered on driver and passenger headrests as well as Indianapolis 500 event logo badges on front fenders. Other details include the all-new front grille insert that Chevrolet plans to offer as a future accessory, floor mats with red and orange accent stitching and of course complete safety strobe [...]
