2012 Shelby GT500 Super Snake At New York Auto Show
Shelby America officially confirmed unveiling of the 2012 Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake – the full-fat 800-hp version – at the upcoming New York Auto Show.
Details are scarce and we know what we know fro the 2011 model. That means we know that this new Super Snake features a monster supercharger on its 5.0 liter V8 engine that helps it kick out 800 hp on pump gas. It also comes in less expensive less powerful 650 and 750 hp versions. But we are not sure about the lloks of the car as it may get a new body kit, new colors or at least new stripes!
In its website Shelby points out that for the new car you can have matte white or matte black stripes, behind-the-door side scoops, and bright or dark finish for the wheels. We are so looking forward to see what this new viscous animal has to offer and at what price.
Shelby will also display the latest 2012 Shelby GT350 coupe and convertible at the New York show.
“With more horsepower, the 2012 Shelby GT500 Super Snake is a strong performer both on the road and the track,” noted Gary Patterson, vice president of operations at Shelby American. “This Super Snake will deliver the driving experience that enthusiasts expect from the Shelby brand.”
