A group of highly skilled engineers at Swift Engineering race car company are hard at work to develop the next generation of Indycar race machines for next year to replace the current Dallara cars.

Here’s a preview of how a new IZOD Indy vehicle would loo like. They are using supercomputers and highly advanced technologies like Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to not only build a faster type than the current cars, but also keep the costs low.

“Given Swift is the leading US race car design and manufacturing company and our 27-year history was founded in motorsport, it is only natural that we aspire to partner with the nations’ premier open-wheel formula, the IZOD IndyCar Series,” Jan Wesley Refsdal, Swift’s president said.

IRL is reportedly working on new standards for engines as well and will soon begin the testings of new prototypes.
